They are also easy to create and upload. Even better, the information in a typical video is easy to comprehend, digest, and share.

Facebook has more than 600 million users, many of which check in every day.  If you want to connect with someone within the social media realm, you will most likely find them on Facebook.

Facebook pages are an excellent way for brands and businesses to connect with their customers and fans.  Combine a regular video segment with a Facebook page and you have a powerful combination.

I tested this idea over the last week.  I thought that offering daily short New Media Photographer videos would be an easy way to share information.

My thought is publishing consistent content on my Facebook page would give people a reason to return, engage with the page content, and share it.

Last Saturday I started a short daily video segment on the New Media Photographer Facebook page.  Within one week I increased my followers by five percent.   Is it the video?

I think it could be argued that quality, consistent content posted every day would return the same results. For my workflow, video gives me the most return for my time. (Assuming it’s a one-take session without editing).

I am convinced that the combination of Facebook and video will offer the branding and recognition results I desire.  If my experiment works well, I will develop a similar Facebook page for Synectics Media using our team members.

I’m certainly not the first to create a regular segment using video on Facebook, but this is the right time for me in my social media development.
