The world of social media is bursting with how to information, status updates, links, photos and videos related to photography. In 2018, if you want to grow your business using social media, it’s important to develop a plan around the promotion of your cornerstone social media.

What To Promote

Your cornerstone content are long blog posts, podcasts and videos. It’s the work you spend a little more time to create. Promoting your work once on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn is not enough. To gain a new audience you need to go outside your social circle.

If you feel people will find your information or creation valuable, make an extra effort to reach out to relevant media, bloggers, podcasters and YouTubers. It’s possible others will promote your good work too.

In some cases you may want to advertise your new work. Promote it on Twitter, Facebook or Google Display.  If you create a video, consider advertising your video on YouTube.

It’s also OK to reach back in to your archive and share your evergreen content again. In some cases, your best work receives solid engagement each time you share it. If this is the case, consider sharing it, on a weekly, monthly or every six-week schedule. Your new followers will appreciate it and those who have seen it before will skip over it with no opinion.

In 2018, to gain traction in social media for your photography. You need to promote your promotions.
