How can photographers use Facebook?

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Are you using Facebook effectively? Last weekend I was invited by my friend, Judy Davids the “Rock Star Mommy,” to her book signing.  I’ve wanted to listen to the band play with the addition of my friend Wensdy, who is their new bass player.

After receiving the Facebook invite, I thought about the many ways a photographer could use Facebook to improve business.  Below is a list of some of my thoughts:

Create invites to show openings
Look for new prospects
Follow up with old clients with whom you’ve lost contact
Ask opinions about your current work
Advertise your business
Keep an eye on what your competition is doing
Create a Facebook group
Update your friends of new blog and podcast posts
Link to your portfolio
Display your current work*

*Read the Facebook terms of use

What ideas can you think of for using Facebook?

New Media photographer Down – update

Monday, July 14th, 2008

We’ve had some serious database and feed issues since the first days. Today, we have rolled up our sleeves and are working hard to get it back up to 100%.

We have reestablished much of the site. Tags, photos, links etc. still need to be updated. The process should be complete by the end of the evening. But, of course, it’s a never ending process….

Thanks
Rosh
